I've been working at PDX5 for almost a year now and it sucks ass. I fucking hate my job. $15/hr isn't worth it. They gave us a small raise about a month ago and I went from $13.25 to $13.50 (blue badge). I wrote on the "Voice of the Associate" board:

Variable Compensation Plan, depending on the productivity of the warehouse as a whole we get a pretty big bonus on the last paycheck of the month. They're doing away with this tho in favor of the 15$ a month. Short term it's ass cause we always get it long term its smart cause we will be unsure if we will get it next month or not. They're raising the rate in which we process items to ridiculous levels. Before all you had to do was process 37 items an hour now you're required to process 50. It's no problem for me for the time being because I max at 75 items an hour but people are being fired left and right and I'm standing my ground but it's getting harder and harder anon. Sounds like the FC is a bit worse than the SC I'm at. Our scan rates are 120/hr, which is basically every time you grab packages for a pallet you grab two. Somehow, people still fail at that though. I usually do around 250/hr but there is no point to do more than the minimum. It doesn't matter how fast we scan or how hard we work, they don't give a shit about us and we will always have to stay late. I always laugh at all the new hires coming in who are go-getters because it is useless to put in 110%. You can see them trying so hard to do their best and get noticed by management. Eventually, they will give up, once Amazon successfully breaks their soul.
I don't scan much, I mostly water spider. Which is OK because its one position where it feels like people actually rely on me. Everyone at my location is lazy, so there aren't a lot of people who want to water spider. I think it is probably one of the more physically demanding positions. Since I got hired last November, I've lost over 50lbs.
I feel like anyone with half a brain quits working at my location to find a better job. PDX5 has only been open for about 2 years now, but already it has gone to shit. The smart people quit, and you are left with the dumb ass brown people every time. So eventually, the entire staff with be lazy shitskins and nothing will get done. I was considering going to the FC that recently opened nearby, but it is about 1 hour or more away because of traffic and I don't want to spend that much time on the road. By bus it takes about 2.5 hours one-way.
