OMG is the right idea. And I don't think the ecosystem CAN go mainstream without a high velocity in wallet DEX/currency agnostic payment network. In theory, this will kill a shitload of birds with one stone. And staking it should be highly profitable.
Problem with OMG is it's wwwaaayyy off schedule. Technically it's still vaporware.

XMR is and has always been a finished product. Problem being is it's not compatible with any of the decentralized infrastructure being built around cryptocurrencies. Such as lightning or plasma. And it will need decentralized infrastructure more than anybody else, since it's privacy coins are the most vulnerable to state censorship.
