After applying for a job, you are told that you have to complete an assessment where you are asked questions that have nothing to do with the job, and as a bonus you can't use a calculator, because in the real world we never use calculators.

Because giving someone a test that has nothing to do with their job is a sure way to test people. Herpa derp. This CCAT is the latest meme test where employers waste your time with garbage exams.

honestly i don't get what anything in these tests tell a company.
wow you can calculate basic fractions
wow you can extrapolate some bullshit pattern in a bunch of shapes
wow you filled in the blank with a word
all multiple choice of course

honestly i just wish i was smart enough to come up with the idea to sell idiot tests like this to companies. you know they pay way too much for them
