>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Should I make this a daily reminder? I feel like /biz/ needs it.

How to invest:
> Buy periodically, for example every month. If you can buy more often due to very low or no transaction fees, buy more frequently
> Buy a fixed $ amount every time (f.e. $1000 every month)
> Buy regardless of whether the market goes up or down, just do it every month
> Diversify, buy index ETFs (MSCI World is a good example)
> Put in additional capital (f.e. 1 month's worth) for every 10% drop
> Don't expect to get rich quick, have an investment horizon of at least 20 years
> NEVER SELL
> Apply the above rules for 90% of your portfolio
> Allow yourself 10% of your portfolio to do dumb shit like day trade, option gambling, meme stocks etc.

Really, there are two styles of trading:

If something goes down, buy it because its bound to go up soon. (buy the dip)
If something goes up, buy it because its going to continue to rally (momentum trading)

The first strategy can be classified as expecting high volatility, that equities will have frequent and profitable moves around their true price. The second is expecting low volatility, that is something moves its meaningful rather than a statistical variation from the mean. Thus, all styles of trading can be classified by the trader's expectation of future volatility.

It is therefore prudent to not trade equities but instead to get directly to the heart of the matter: volatility. Various volatility trackers exist from UVXY to VIX and traders can expose themselves to volatility of a specific equity by carefully composing options positions. In doing so, the trader excises the complex real world of equities and purifies them down to their pure form: volatility.

The volatility trader has moved beyond the physical and immersed himself into the transcendental.

It's speculation, but here's my logic: The market is completely irrational, TA does no good if people running the algos start to panic. If this shit does not rally in one hour, people ARE going to panic. The third week of October is historically a horrific month for financial markets, and with the Italy, Saudi, and China situations ready to kill everything on one hand, and a super uncertain election here in the US on the other, people are super antsy. Add on top of that 2 weeks of utter chaos and a grim looking earnings season, and every investor worth more than a rainy day fund is going to try and pull his money out, profits or no. And when everyone starts trying to sell everything, everything starts to bottom out, which causes MORE panic, which causes MORE selling.

Delusional people are seeing these bounces as signs of positive volume, but in reality it isn't there. Everyone WANTS things to go back to the Golden Bull, but that really can't happen in the current climate.

>Youre new, and Hodling galt with your 800 dollars doesnt give you the merit to talk down on others

nobody really has the merit to talk down to anyone in the sense that it implies they're an "inferior" person as a whole
everybody has their own weaknesses and their own strengths
even people like Warren Buffett and Ray Dalio are in some area "inferior" to the average /smg/ poster
nothing, including life itself, has any worth outside of the meaning people assign it because "worth" and "success" are inherently subjective concepts
here is no such thing as objective success or worth, so it's impossible for one person to be objectively "superior" to another as a human being

"Talking down to people" is just a 4chan-ish way of voicing my opinion that getting emotional over short term price action causes you unnecessary stress and ultimately reduces your returns in the long run

Reagan passed tax cuts that stimulated economic growth and emphasized supply-side economics. Not perfect by any means, but a firm believer of less govt = good govt.

>Clinton surplus
He had a republican House and Senate IIRC and basically played ball with Republicans whenever possible. He was a sexual predator, yeah, but he was basically a moderate republican in terms of policy.

>Bush crash
Bushed spending was out of control, sure. The "compassionate conservatism" moniker was retarded.

>Obama good
Obama accumulated as much national debt as every other president combined. Spending-wise he was Bush on steroids. Also passed a slew of regulations that harmed large and small businesses (Obamacare, renewable-energy bullshit, etc.)

VTGN is making a drug called AV-101 to treat depression and neuropathic pain
AV-101 acts on the same neurological pathway in the same way as ketamine (they're both NMDA antagonists), and ketamine has been shown to been very effective in treating both treatment-resistant depression and neuropathic pain
AV-101 has performed well in clinical trials, and has received FDA fast track status twice since December 2017 for both depression and neuropathic pain

The advantages AV-101 has over ketamine is that it's orally bioavailable (you can take it as pills instead of having to inject it), which makes it a lot more likely for doctors to prescribe it, and it has fewer long-term side effects and safety concerns than ketamine

It's a safer and version of a drug that's already been proven to work very well

No one else outside of Texas understands the glory of TRUCKS.
Just look at that sleek design, it projects manhood.
Imagine driving that monster, high above all the manlets and plebs driving their 47 miles per galon cuck car.
You don't care about gas, or the environment, you drive a truck that gets 3 miles per galon.
You can drive both on and OFF the road, the government can't fucking tell you where you can and can't drive.
The government shills this constant "global warming" crap just to try and keep people from discovering what its like to drive a truck.
Truck drivers push the boundaries, assisted by their perfect vehicle, the laws of man can do nothing to inhibit them.

Dealers try to snag customers in to their twice a year+ """scheduled maintenance""" plans where they do a bunch of """checking things over""" and replacing stuff that does not need replacing so frequently. I think this is the reason some car manufacturers give pretty lengthy power train warranties.
