Cheshire Cat edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

game winning strategy:

buy equal positions in SQQQ and TQQQ
- every time SQQQ spikes move your position over to TQQQ at a rate of 2:1 with the performance of SQQQ for the day
- everytime SQQQ falls mover your position from TQQQ to SQQQ at the same ratio mentioned above

Nobody knows for sure. But:

1) This wasn't even a big crash, more like normal volatility. Investors have been spoiled by the past 10 years.
2) Most people don't own stocks so a stock market crash doesn't affect most people's livelihood as long as the economy is still hot, which it is.
3) For midterms the state of the economy hasn't been super influential. That's not to say it has no influence, but the approval rating of the president is more important. The economy is much more important for presidential elections.

Sell off today. Evidently sell the news plan was no joke. I had already shifted strategy to post-speculative hype trading so my portfolio was fairly protected against downturns on the sector. No indication of bearish reversal on Canopy of the HMMJ ETF yet. Selling started a day early and came off of a very short hype push. RSI is neutral, nowhere near overbought.

Verdict is more volatility tomorrow, perhaps some breakouts on who knows which tickers. Probably no consensus on trend changes yet. If red, it'll be pretty mild as support levels are too close to closing price today. I may day trade but otherwise no moves planned in particular at this stage of the market. Definitely going to continue to trade this sector as long as the volatility and volume remain.

RIV better hold 5.25 support tomorrow I swear to fucking god the sell pressure is annoying.

Yes indeed it is they are biggest exporter in the world. There’s a catch tho. The way I see it
For biggest exporter to swap to new branches of businesses to profit and improve is 100x easier than for biggest importer to fix missing exports. As I said the problem is China has aces here and right now if both countries are all of the sudden under iron curtain in finances trade and whatnot China can survive changes much easier than us.

I personally think that not only EU but also India Russia and others close to China countries has to go against them with Us for us to win. Cuz if it doesn’t happen China still has resource partners and most importantly people to become self sufficient. Thy need trump working in their gov and isolate them from everyone to lose this game

Besides if what you say is true, then is Trump not lying when he says that tariffs could be gone with just a trade deal?

The Chinese stuff would still be cheaper and more competitive even after trade deal, right? Unless that deal includes some sort of pseudo-tariff?

Interestingly enough, back when Smith was working on Wealth of Nations, the Netherlands and Portugal were in a similar position to China compared to the UK. To him, it actually doesn't matter if there's a trade imbalance.

In his time, the country that was anal about trade balance was Spain, which ironically was also the monetary richest country in europe (due to all that gold from colonies), yet didn't manage to make anything out of it.

And yes a trade deal would solve the trade war but would mean we still import mostly chink shit. But maybe that’s not the fucking point of the trade war in the first place.

One objection to Adam Smith is that he implicitly based his philosophy in the Christian world. Maybe even more specifically, the Anglosphere

That is because he took for granted the sanctity of contracts and the fact other people won't use unfair practice (eg slavery or child labor, government subsidies etc).

Free market works when every actors accept the same rules and have equivalent customs.
