Fuck this shithole boomer company. I bought a washing machine that broke and was inoperable TWO WEEKS after it was delivered. First, they charged me almost two grand and were weeks late delivering the shit to begin with. Then, the delivery service is nothing but contracted Mexicans who speak no English and rushed installing everything, causing a hose to leak (easy fix). A spider gear or some shit broke in the washer (Samsung chink plastic shit) two weeks later and it wouldn't spin. Someone was supposed to come out and look at it but never did. It took another two weeks to get a technician out to repair it, but when someone finally showed up he couldn't fix it and had to order the part. Part is on a nationwide backorder for THREE GOD DAMN MONTHS. I had to go to the laundromat like some trailer trash idiot for months waiting for the part. Eventually, I tell them I want a complete replacement of the washer which Sears agreed to. Another two months pass before I finally get a new washer. Go on their Facebook page and you'll see THOUSANDS of other people with the same complaints. And all this happened last year before shit really started going downhill.

FUCK SEARS

I, for one, am so glad these fucking boomers cleared the path for big box stores for their big fat fucking spending habits, and now that they're too diabetic to make it outside, have left huge empty boxes in their wake. Thanks a fucking million.

Cool. What are we going to do with these Babies-R-Us/Toys-R-Us coffins?

Corporate greed and overestimating the fact are their stores are just entrance gates to the actual mall sand don't realize it a bunch of millennium's and Zoomer to just buying their clothes on Amazon and other retail stores that haven't failed to modernize. At least Macy's modernize a bit in the local one near my area and it's is doing well but the Sears across it is complete empty shell that it once was and it's one of the ones that is going to close

Have you guys been to a Sears in the last 2 years or so?
Fuck.
It's like a time capsule.
The one by my old house looks EXACTLY the same as it did when I was like 12yrs old.
I would look around while my father got tools he needed.
It's mind blowing that NOTHING has changed in that time soon.
Not even the layouts changed
Same old 90s registers.

When you put it like that, it IS fucking bonkers. I remember being a kid and having to look through sears catalogs to let my parents know what I wanted for Christmas, back when you had to use a phone book to look up local businesses instead of just googling "plumber near me". They had everything in the mail order business basically on lockdown for like 100 years, and then they fucked it up.

This. They're going to become amazon warehouses where you can pick up shit you don't want to wait 2 days for, not unlike Prime Now where its available. They'll beat out walmart just due to the fact you don't have to deal with the walmart clientele/employees.

Good luck with that product warranty that only covers manufacturers defects (basically nothing). And here you could have had annual preventative maintenance and replacement guarantee. It’s risk free cancellation so assuming you bought the 5 year protection plan after 4.5 years you can cancel the plan and get a full refund. It’s a signed contract regardless if the store closes or sears goes out of business. Your product will be covered regardless.

I feel sorry for you

The way things are going I'd say no. They might cut down their stores to the few that are used and stabilize for a decade before finally bleeding out when the internets tendrils are truly everywhere. If there's any room for growth I'm not really seeing it. I don't think you'd make much money unless you caught a fluke bump and you'd be better served looking for better risk/return options, though $100 is fuck you spin the wheel money anyway so do it if it sounds fun.

I worked at Sears from 2008 to 2012 and I can say without a doubt that Eddie Lampert is an absolute sociopath who purposely ran Sears into the ground for his own personal gain.

While Wal Mart and Amazon were introducing new and cheap products, Sears was selling mediocre shit and pushing predatory Sears cards and horrendously overpriced protection agreements instead of simply trying to do better than the competition. It wouldnt have been hard to do, but you couldnt have done a better job of ruining Americas oldest and most monolithic Company if you tried. Im not sure if what Eddie Lampert did was illegal or not but Absolutely unethical at minimum.
