The hardest part is getting started. FORCE yourself to keep writing for 30 mins straight even if what you're writing is bad. No breaks to think or edit what you're writing (you'll do that later) no matter what. Once you got the first page down it gets a lot easier.

It might not work for you, but my strategy is to write a (really shitty) draft as quickly as possible. If it's a 5 page essay I will spend like 1 hour on the first draft. Then I spend 4-5 hours on improving it. It feels great to have a finished product as quickly as possible (even if it's a really shitty one).
