Whats going to happen to Ethereum?

>> No.11353350

Remember all those ICOs in eth. Waht do you think happened with those funds. Right, they are constantly getting dumped. Several billions of scam funds hitting the market

eth will fix is scaling issue and next bullrun we will hit 10k

If you ask /biz/, it’s going to $0

In reality, it has a lot of potential. Constantinople is going to testnet in a couple of days and should be released to mainnet within a month or so. It’s their first step towards PoS and will include a block reward reduction. Both of which should have a positive impact on price.

>> No.11353433

it's not useable and will never be useable so figure it out. most projects will move to other platforms

and once the scams have cashed out, the early adopters will reign in the golden bull run with legit projects running on top of eth. if you aren't holding at least one 32 eth staking node you won't make it

Well if you can take another 90% hit and are aware that after the 2017/18 shitshow etherum will never go anywhere near its ath, buy. And stop memeing like a retard outside your discord or red_dit

>> No.11353468

also don't fall for the masternode meme they are always scams and this is no exception

>> No.11353486

Lmao biz thought eth was worth nothing back when it was 10 cents. Someone had 16,000 eth and asked what it would be worth in 3 years and someone said halfway between 0 and a pile of dogshit.

The truth is nobody knows

>> No.11353563

It's unusable and running at max capacity with a few ponzi games. Shit is dead.
Look at vlad's recent sharding "demo". This shit will take over 2 years and by then the supply will increase another 10-20%.
Running an archive node is almost impossible (everyone is using infura) after one year of real growth and it's only getting worse.
Plus pos will make this even more centralized, leveraging vitalik and friends' power even more.

We are going back to $600 next year.

>> No.11353877

>>11353331

For the time being, a slow bleed down to under $200, then under $150 with a possible pump back up to $400 at some point in the next 1-2 years if we get a huge bull market again. Betting on ETH now is like betting on Netscape in 2000.

Even in a bull market the gains will be modest compared to what we had before. The only thing keeping ETH prices as high as they are now are ERC-20 tokens, DEXes to trade those, and its acceptance as a trading pair on exchanges from its mostly squandered first mover advantage.

In 5 years, even if Vitalik ever figures out scaling, ETH will be left in the dust by Holo and other platforms coming online that are offering the same features, but better, faster, cheaper, and more accessibly to developers. Solidity as a language sucks and greatly limits ETH's growth because no one knows it or wants to learn it.

>> No.11353889

>>11353486

True. Even Vitalik said ETH has said ETH would be horribly overvalued at $7, though.

You have no idea what you are talking about. You do realize that Solidity is just a high level language running on tge EVM, right? The EVM is turing complete, you could write smart contracts in C++ if you wanted to, retard.

Crypto has now entered the post Dot.com bubble phase the internet was in circa 2000 or 20001. This is where the real monopolies and huge projects will arise, now that the fever dream of huge amounts of cash pumping into every shitty, half-assed project is over. The question now is picking the handful of winners out of the trash pile. ETH is Netscape in this scenario. Maybe Yahoo or, at absolute best, Microsoft.

>> No.11353930

>>11353906

You do realize that nobody wants to fucking learn or work in Solidity, though, right? That's the point. You could write smart contracts in anything. Now go eat your feces, brainlet.

Vitalik is making a whole new system because he can't integrate the updates he's making. It'll fork over the old (current) ETH, but it really just shows how incompetent he is if he can't even write code that integrates into his own system.

Holo seems to have one of the better shots at overtaking ETH and I think regardless of it replacing ETH or not it will do well. The only thing that stops me from thinking that it wouldn’t is the devs basically said it’s not a good transactional coin and you wouldn’t want to create a token on Holo’s platform.

Transactions may or may not be that big of a deal but one of the main reasons ETH is so big is because it’s the go to tokenization and ICO coin.

Also Constantinople is coming out in a month and has a reward reduction and is the first step in moving to PoS. I think these two are going to have more of a positive impact on price than most people realize in the relative short term

Scaling will be done in 2020 but it wont matter. The other competitors more specifically NEO will have scaled as well and have more room to grow speculation wise. Also by then, Chinese regulations will be ready and whatever ETH does price wise, NEO will do 10x more for being undervalued.

the only serious competitor ETH has right now is TOMO, and that's simply because existing contracts can be moved over to the tomochain, can potentially threaten ETH's first mover advantage. who knows what's gonna happen though. ETH as a trading pair is pretty widespread so it's gonna be pretty hard to dethrone. It's a shitcoin though and far from being user friendly. we all know it.

>> No.11354600

We haven't seen anything yet as far as a crypto bubbles goes. The 2017 pump was rooted solely because Ethereum took off, and a number of imitator Smart Contract platforms appeared in it's wake. The real bubble will happen once you see adoptable projects like; ZRX, LINK, OMG, BAT, CVC all start to launch and create a functional crypto economy is when the imitators of all of the aforementioned will appear in mass. That is when the 'dot com bubble' equivalent will happen.

and they are getting ready to launch.

ETH has made huge strides recently on scalability. I expect a lot of this to get implemented soon.

Eventually will hit 10-50k per ETH if they'll solve state sharding. Anyway, i see way better investment opportunities in the meantime, Zilliqa for example perfected transaction sharding and this should be enough for at least the next 3-5 years.
