B.A in "Media Professional Studies". The course doesnt even exist anymore, its now called Media Production. I was such a fucking bluepilled normie back then and the degree was absolutely useless in getting me any work. After I graduated I remember applying to hundreds of jobs and the closest I got was the interview stage of a 2 week unpaid internship. Kek. I even did some retarded "World of Work" programme that was shilled to us by our lecturer after I finished uni, and that was also completely useless. But I was a fucking retard for just taking it for granted that a degree would get me a job, and I had no guidance from my naive parents. It's sad they still have a photo of me in my graduation cap & gown in their house, like my degree actually had any value or did anything other than put me thousands of pounds in debt.

You're absolutely wrong. Architects are needed in homebuilding/home improvement industry (if you are willing to relocate). There is always a city that needs people to build custom homes, or hire an architect to remodel. These guys get paid big money.

My 42 y/o uncle is a general contractor that works on custom homes, and makes seven figures. He's been working in home construction since 16 though, but he was already making six figures in his 20s.

Dude is rich as fuck. All he does nowadays is paperwork, talking to clients, and architectural drafting. He has supervisors on all his construction sites and only checks on them like once a week to make sure things are going according to schedule.

You might think that you need a lot of money to do this, but the truth is you're just a middleman to your employees and other subcontractors. You act as an architect/designer/builder depending on the job, and pass along checks from the homeowner to your employees, and subcontractors.

It's the easiest money in the world, because people in construction are really bad with finance, regulations, and generally don't have good presentation and people skills.

I'm finishing up my Civil Engineering degree and will be working with my uncle full time when I graduate. Won't have to lift a board, and will be making six figures, although I'll have to be putting in 60+ hours a week.

idk, most people there are insane pro ses or asshole small businesses. i just got lucky having these jobs basically fall into my lap.

also, upwork is a scam and will:
-take 20-10% of your money and a significant percentage of your client's
-make you track hours painstakingly and to the minute, as opposed to the 0.1 hour (6 minute increment) i do with my clients

so i just use it to be invited to jobs by boomers, who i take into a dark alley and convince to do it the old fashioned way and i invoice them directly and never look at upwork again. it's against the tos but the tos is probably illegal anyway so whatever

keep in mind that you actually have to have some idea of what you are doing. i'm lucky because i sued a bunch of people pro se the last couple of years and made $135,000, learned how to read the law and apply it, was an illegal immigrant with no social security number so i got really into immigration law, etc.

Anyways, I was implying that being a "student veteran" was my version of brown female lesbian immigrant, which I believe had a big role in separating me from the other white male applicants. My class was majority white and Male but they all came from money or had some huge feat in life that made them unique.

Yeah, policy analyst, policy advisor. If you're in the US there's a lot attached to the empire in terms of intel. A language is very helpful in this area. Also IR grads are very sought after in the private sector too as we can bring a new and unique lens.

Remember you want to show your value-add. You need to be able to quickly understand and comprehend material and come to more than one 'truth' or conclusion. Important to be able to think outside of the box, to question everything, to deconstruct opposing arguments. Along with writing these should be your core skills and you need to show that you can do this.

Public speaking is also a very nice skill to have. Remember that it's very difficult to be in the top 1% but if you can be in the top 10% with two or three skills (eg. analytical thinking, language, public speaking) then you can find a niche and excel.

Currently in college
19, wanna major in Comp Sci and minor in something business so I can go into the game development industry and hopefully get a job as a producer.
I'm trying to start a dev team right now though, hopefully I can get some solid guys together and we can do something on our own, but if not I'll just continue with school.

I think this is a solid plan, but I keep thinking about going into medicine.
My Dad's fine with comp sci since that's the field he's in, but every time we talk he brings up how he wants me to go into medicine.
Being a doctor or something seems a lot more secure, but it's not really my thing.

Getting MA in IR as well. Marketing is a good way to use this kind of degree in Business and its what I’ll be going for. Being a rep for international companies in marketing or sales pays well. Just make sure you start looking up the language of what country you are interested in (you did learn another language, right anon?) If any major company wants to expand to another country/make deals with foreign companies, they need someone to help bridge the gap. More positions than you would think. Granted I’ve been in marketing so i’m biased

Nah anon I do this and it’s comfy as fuck I make a shitty wage but that’s what side hustles are for. I sit in my office browsing the chon and reading E-books for 6-7 hours a day and occasionally will have to restart someone’s computer or reset a password. Plenty of healthcare places need IT stuff and since boomer doctors are retarded they think you’re a genius because you can refresh a webpage and setup a work station. I’m the only IT staff (besides the outsourcing company who handles the servers and network Kek) for like 90 employees so whatever my next job is I look like I have a shit ton of responsibility by managing 5 sites when in reality I sit around shit posting, reading about crypto and other fun stuff all day. Down side is I don’t learn that many hard skills but if you have some social skills you can usually blow autists out of the water in interviews.

This is one of those fields where your portfolio matters more than your degree more often than not. There's two different kinds of people who graduate from Comp Sci: bottom rung that just pass their classes with mostly Cs and Bs and don't do any extra work, and the top rung that ace all their classes merely because they spend every waking moment of their lives programming and building their portfolio so it comes second nature to them, they usually get hired before they finish their senior year and end up slacking off at the end because it doesn't matter anymore.

Just a heads up, if you go down the path of being a doctor, make sure to find a more personal reason than to help people. If you are participating positively in society you are helping people. The garbage men help people. Tax advisors help people. It comes off as a bit naive to say you want to be a doctor to help people when talking to the interviewer. Not trying to rip on you, just giving you a bit of advice that you can use for future interviews. Also don't use a dead relative as your motivation to be a doctor unless you really mean it. Sob stories don't get brownie points. Everyone has lost someone in life. That said, if you are really interested, you can start by shadowing a doctor, and seeing what a day to day in the workplace is like. And you should also talk with your college advisor and get a pre-health/pre-med track so your degree plan will start including the prerequisite classes that you need in order to apply to med school. It's a long path, and has a lot of grind, but if you really want it, you can get it.
