How much do they matter socially?
I kinda already /made it/ with Crypto as i invested everything i earned and used to get paid in BTC/ETH on runescape back in the day.

Just wondering if a degree is worth pursuing even if financially it might not make a big difference ( setting up own business already have a skill i can use if i want).

Everyone always asks me where i graduated from, kinda annoying, and a lot of women expect it.

I think it's worth it. There are other ways of getting the prestige but they're much harder, degree is easily the cheapest and safest way of getting status.

I don't like your chart.

Is it an average or median?

Look at this one. More accurate.

>only includes people above 25 years of age who earn a full-time wage or salary

So it excludes a lot of self-employed people, and it doesn't discount for student loans and the opportunity cost of having to start a real job several years later because you are studying for years.

I think the difference is overstated and charts like yours imply having a degree is a golden ticket, rather than actually being good at something.

>> No.11282157

> How much do they matter socially?
Only to normies. Intelligent and successful people realize that intelligence is genetic and that degrees for the most part are just expensive and drawn out IQ tests.

There are many reasons why you shouldn't get a degree.

> Everyone always asks me where i graduated from, kinda annoying, and a lot of women expect it.
Firstly, getting a degree to fit in socially is retarded. Normies are absolute dumpsters of culture. To most normies "sleeves" or arm tattoos are considered good taste. Recreational drug use and porn are considered acceptable and fine. As you see its not worth the money, time or effort to appease literal retards. You shouldn't look to fit with these people rather to exploit them.

Secondly, colleges have become a complete joke. There are so many colleges out there that will admit anyone. Unless you're getting your degree in a respectable field from tier 1 university in that field then it doesn't show anything. You would be showing commitment but you can show commitment by going to the gym regularly.

Universities have no shame in offering degrees in education, psychology, social work, museum studies, and other retarded subjects which should be a sign to anyone with a brain that is a scam. The woman who looks down on you for not having one is probably a holder of a worthless degree herself. I mean you probably have no idea what a joke higher education has become. When you start admitting anyone and everyone naturally standards have to be dropped to accommodate the lower average IQ. Even STEM hasn't been spared. With the lax admission rules, affirmative action and women in STEM initiative even science/engineering degrees have become watered down where its now come to a point where even math degrees offer algebra. Which 50 years ago would have been a prereq/i.e assumed knowledge.

Now if you want to get one because your finances permit it then either study something that relates to the field you're working in. I mean actually relates to it. Like engineering. Not management, not business. These are worthless degrees for dumb people.

Or you want to get one in say philosophy then seriously reconsider it because college is becoming more and more expensive. But if you want to go then find a cheap but good state university with a good offerings of electives.
