I am bullish on Quant but this was a post in their AMA in regards to tokenomics..what??

chainlink is shit

>> No.11224655

the economics of all of these shittokens are broken. link, quant, vechain, whatever, they're all 100% funding tokens.

without the centralized company pushing their version of the network that uses their funding token, it's value is literally zero.

link & Vechain have very good tokenomics, read whitepaper

doesn't sound like you have. chainlink is a perfect example of a pure funding token. anything else would have worked, and using ether ends up with a much better designed system, but they wanted some free money upfront.

of course every team/project wants to have it run on their own currency what's wrong with that?

You expect someone to work their asses off fore free and at the end let it run on someone else's coin like a cuck?

Yes anon using a coin for payment and reputation that is completely independent of the network itself is much better because logic

>100% funding tokens
the most pure example is raiden network I think. They struggle to even figure out where to put that in the system.
At least in this case something will come out of the ico, giving ico buyers the excuse that it was a charity. Better than 95% of all icos.

Golem is a similar case, even if it ends up widely used the token is eventually going to zero, but it has the potential to be something productive. Enigma made sense in the original design with multiparty computation, unfortunately they switched to intel sgx raping the tokenomics.

>> No.11225582

>>11225544
raiden is so obvious even to those that got fooled by other funding tokens because they retroactively added it, but it's no worse than any others out there.

>> No.11225620

>>11225582
nah it's worse than even chainlink. Link put some bullshit about 'staking' and penalties in the whitepaper, whether they knew it was bullshit or dumped the idea later I don't know, but on some level it made sense. Raiden? There's almost no place to put the token. 'Fees for watchtowers' lmao.

what is so bullshit about letting peple demand collateral in form of link to make sure they get penalized for bad behaviour. Link has one of the best token economics, because you will need collateral to make money running node which will shrink the supply?

what is the eth token for? fucking nothing, a fucking gas token lmao

it's next to impossible to monetize open source protocols. That's just the truth.
EOS for all its centralization is one of the few icos that made some sense.
Those icos that weren't protocols (like golem, raiden) would work as ipo with shares, eg. spankchain.
>>11225658

yeah, about that...

>>11225664
>it's next to impossible to monetize open source protocols.
so literally every project that isn't its own blockchain/protocol should be developed for free? no one is stupid enough to waste money on something with0 incentives.

Good projects will be monetized whether Ethereum maximalists like it or not, unless you think Pedo Skelly will have time and brainpower to fork, run and develop multiple different projects while his own sucks ass currently

>yeah, about that...
lol, why would they require any specific amount of link? they don't care, there is no entry barrier but you will not make any money and bid on any tasks if you don't lock enough link to make sure you're incentivized to perform in an honest way

I agree that pure payment tokens for dapps are worthless because once the hype dies down the token velocity will simply kill its price, but link has one of the best hoarding/supply shrinking features, beter than eth itself which is a simple gas token. Link is like btc in terms of token eoconomics
