He forgets that people want to buy bitcoin/eth to have a little, try it out, etc. Not everybody using coinbase is a big investor obviously.

people are forced to buy stocks through 401k plans. stcks are hundreds of years old as an asset class. crypto is barely 10yrs old as an asset class. in the future people will be buying crypto via employee plans and they wont even know it

>> No.11223093

750 because you were a late adopter

if you didn't get in late, not even early, that 750 would be worth 30-60k

Bitcoin got to 20k with the average account size on coinbase only being 750 dollars. Just imagine how much we will moon if boomers start trusting it enough to pump it with their 401k money. Imagine if the average account was 22k just like Fidelity.

We really are the early adopters.

most of the people in Fidelity though are locked in until retirement without severe penalties. in a scheme which started in 1978 which has come to be known as 401(k). also one called the IRA which was started in 1974. Roth IRA didn't come until 1997. someone entering the workforce at age 22 in 1978 is 62 today, so the first IRA participants that are holding until age 65 would have been starting to be able to cash out as of last year. I don't have data on 401(k) cohorts and flows but it seems based on the timeframe that pretty soon we will begin an age of peak cashing out
