it's a bot that exists to trade coins to himself so the that volume of the coin looks bigger than it actually is

OP, here's a genuine answer if you're looking for one. The supply of HOT is high, and compared to most other cryptos, so is the price of a single BTC. This means the price of a single HOT token per BTC is very low - currently double digit satoshis, ie. the smallest fraction of a BTC. As the BTC HOT is traded against can't be divided into any smaller units, this limits the granularity of the range of prices in BTC for which HOT can be traded. Rather than orders spread out nicely over a broad range, large numbers of orders bunch up at each price level.

Significant buying or selling volume isn't reflected as volatile price action like you would normally expect to see, since there are so many orders at the current price levels to work through before the price moves significantly in either direction. Until then, the price bounces back and forth between two prices as the token is bought and sold. Whether the candles appear red or green is quite arbitrary, as bots spam tiny buy and sell orders constantly in hope of being the last order processed when the current candle closes.

When ETH isn't on fire, the HOTETH pair offers a better perspective of HOT's price action. This is because the price of a single ETH is lower compared to BTC. As HOT is valued at a larger number of gwei/vits than it is sats, the larger number of these units are more easily divisible and therefore allows for more granular pricing.

If you already knew this, fuck you.

I didn't. Grug had legitimate question. Thank you.

Grug is welcome. :)

This is exactly right, but the BTC pair also restricts the range on the ETH pair to 5-10%.

still low volume and market cap

Also there's a bigger difference between buy and sell orders, usually around 5% so it has a chunkier line when buys and sales go through

Its stuck in a limited range of sats so it looks blocky, like shitty old computer games had a limeted "range" of pixels so the looked blocky.
