I do and have.
Made a fortune in the 90's in stocks and options and blew it all and was in prison for a couple years. When I got out in 2008 I was broke and learned to trade forex and afgter a year or so of trial and error, i made money and I consistently make 8-12k per week...its doable,... very very doable.
My advice? ..avoid crypto til (if?) the next bull run commences cuz its dead for now. Not profitable for vast majority of people.
Good luck.

Drug distribution.
After I made my fortune I got hedonistic and drank, did drugs and fucked whores. The drugs started taking more of my time and money so I started selling cocaine with a 'friend' of mine who ended up being and informant. 48 months in federal prison.
I estimate I did at least 3 milllion dollars worth of cocaine in about 5 years....no joke.
I'm sober now thankfully...much better life too.

Other than having a understanding of price action the only advice i can simply give you is to never do what the news is telling you.
When bloomberg is yelling yen weakness bla bla bla, you better make sure as fuck that youre buying it, yeah market makers will move a yen down a little at such times but thats only to convince people that bloomberg were telling the truth to trick more shorters in and then btfo with severe price movements

you have to develop your trading strategy on your own, you need just a bit creativity and patience.
learn the basics, learn the indicators, combine them until you find something that works over time.

There are people who make a living day trading, but they are very rare. Most don't have the emotional regulation to pull it off. You will often see those types putting down others online about day trading, saying it "provides no value to society" or "it's just glorified gambling". These types are hopeless degenerates who lost everything they put into their trading accounts because they're a dumbass.

One thing i want to point out to people is that indicators are fucking useless. absolutely useless, and think about it. If their job is to make money do you really think they are going to give you a bunch of free indicators to use in order to do it? fuck no
MM's can paint a perfect picture in the indicators to dictate to you "what" is happening in correlation with what youve been taught, if the indicators were so reliable why do 90% of traders fail?
The only things i trade with are moving averages and simply watching the price action, maybe every now and then ill refer to the stochastic 's to gauge on how right or wrong i may be, but ill never rely on it.

The tether markets aren't really conducive to the kind of trading I do but every now and then something pops up so I keep a little spare for that. Same for LTC and BCH for the same reason. Would have some DOGE but I sold it all at 80 sats a few days ago.

Most definitely. Started small at 280 and layering on the way down. I can't sell it all when it goes back up but I'll get out enough to make a really nice profit. If we're lucky, the Arthur Hayes fud will carry us down to 150 or even 125 but I wouldn't bet on it. At any rate, layer. Swing trading ethereum right now is probably some of the easiest crypto money I've seen in months.

It's kind of funny. I started about a year ago right before the final run up in 2017 so most of the initial gains were bitcoin itself appreciating. At first I couldn't trade worth a shit and almost quit after getting my ass handed over a couple of times trying. I even managed to get fucked when ant shares rebranded to NEO. I had made some on it but set a stop overnight and sure as shit, I woke up the next morning with my NEO sold at 750k sats only to see it right back up to 900k. But whatever. I was riding bitcoin and around the 7500 mark I decided to get smart and tether up. Haha. I bought back in around 9k. By January, I was sitting on 0.6 btc worth about 10,000 dollars. That's right around the time the bear started. From then to now I went from 10k to 270k and down to 200k-ish at this moment. Having had a terrible experience tethering last year, I don't do it. I'm a trader and if I'm tethered, I can't trade. So I'm just riding this thing and accumulating. I guess we'll all see how it goes. Fun times

I'm sure some of it was luck but I look for weird anomalies in the market. My two biggest trades came in the same day when ZCL forked and it was dumping like crazy on Cryptopia and Bittrex. It was in the afternoon my time and I had just woken up when it started. The key for me when something has my attention is watch the book. If it's dumping with a ton of volume, I don't care what the story is, it goes low enough it's gonna bounce. Hell, bitconnect bounced off the bottom. Just gotta watch that book. So ZCL was dumping and dumping, finally sure enough the multi-BTC buys started hitting the bids. The whales had had enough. Muh signal. I got in with a few bitcoins and got out minutes later at a 50% profit. Then it plunged again and the same thing happened. That put me well over 100k. Later that same day ORME dumped super hard on Cryptopia, I mean like a 35 btc sell hit the book. Yet on HitBTC, there was a 24 btc buy on the bid. I was like wtf? Some kind of weird whale manipulation. At any rate I was like fuck it and went in deep. Then ORME 5x'd within an hour. Shit like that is how I do it.

Well, of course the efficient allocation of capital theory holds perfectly well in crypto. The idea being good projects get rewarded by people buying it up, the founders are flush with money since their holdings have appreciated and they can use that money to fund development. So many projects being blatant fucking scams doesn't negate the underlying economics. And if something like Ethereum ever really delivers on its promise, it'll be in no small part due to the cash having been thrown at it. I'm being reductionist but I think you get the point and I don't really want to argue it. If this whole thing works out, currency independent of central banking, smart contracts, oracles (wink wink) blah blah then it's far from a zero sum game. You gotta think bigger than a bunch of neets fucking about on Binance.
