11035653 No.11035653 [Reply] [Original]

>Sergey Nazarov, Founder and CEO, SmartContract.com, said: “$150 billion is extremely conservative when you look at the back-end infrastructure that blockchain-based systems are set to replace or completely reform in the next five years. What is the value of the systems that currently secure every institutional securities transaction, insurance transaction, and trade finance transaction worth? Much more than $150 billion. The World Economic Forum arrived at its valuation of 10% global GDP by 2027 on blockchain-based systems, which is in the trillions, and many of those same global thought leaders now feel those projections were conservative.”

I want to emphasize:

Nice find. I hate that people are falling for the over night success. All that will create is buyers remorse and weak hands. This is a long term hold for another 5-7 years or a Golden bull run happens. I’m happy for the 5-7 years time line. I’d love to get to 100k linkies

The thing is, he is talking specifically about crypto. Not about private blockchains (which is the biggest fud about crypto). So this makes me extremely bullish on LINK NDAs!

Guys, check out this article from when smartcontract.com first launched: http://www.logicoins.org/tag/companies/page/24/

Notice:
>“We have been thinking about smart contracts since the beginning of this year,” said Nazarov, who added that a four-person team was assembled to develop the SmartContract platform over the summer.

Who were the other two devs? I thought it was just Sergey and Steve back then?

>SmartContract also plans to launch more programmable agreements soon and has at least two others in development, one for geolocation-based contracts using GPS data, another for real estate – both expected to be available in early 2015.

What happened to this? I've never heard of this?

I think the 10% of global GDP is meant for all blockchain tech combined. Both private and decentralised. Unfortunately, I think the private sector will be worth significantly more than the open one. However, I'm sure they'll both be in the trillions.

Yeah, it will. Chainlink will be active in both though.

I understand that, I'm just pointing out that the public crypto market won't make up 10% of global GDP, for anyone who is deluded enough to think that.
Chainlink would be part of the public market, no? So it can only ever make up for a fraction of a fraction of the market. It's still going to be a high number of course.
