>find a list of corporations that are too big to fail (in the sense the government would inevitably bail them out if they did)
>find which one has the highest dividends
>buy however many stocks you can afford every month or so
>don't sell the stocks, just make profit through the dividends
Good idea or bad idea?

I've been wondering the myself. Issue is I only have like, 1,000 dollars saved.

Put McDonalds on that list, high dividends and way to big to fail. Saved the chocolate maid btw.

McDonalds, Disney, Coca-Cola, those kinds of businesses. That isn't to say they couldn't theoretically fuck up big time, but even if they did the government would bail them out.

>>11000878
True, but the dividends themselves can be reinvested into more stocks, and 1,000 dollars ain't a bad starting point.

>>11000904
Thanks, I think McDonalds is a good choice as well (and I'm not just saying that because I saw The Founder recently)

I must not understand this. If I don't my thousand burger bucks on McDonald's burger stocks, I'd get dividend payouts 4 times a year. Each payout would be like, 10 fucking burger bucks unless I'm horribly misunderstanding how this works.

I have been curious as to which stocks /biz/ invests in to have so much income to waste on crashing cryptocurrencies

Why would the government care if Disney crashes? Unless it's a bank the government doesn't give a shit.. Right?

The government was all too willing to pull General Motor's ass out of the fire, although they've just been kind of drudging on like a zombie since.

It's true that you'll need either a decent amount of savings to invest with or a well playing job so you can continuously invest a decent portion each month or so. You don't have to be rich, but you should probably shouldn't be working a minimum wage job either.

>> No.11001614

I guess it's settled then, almost sure fire way to make lots of money in the long long run at the expense of having to invest a lot of money and having to wait a lot of time.
If that's fine with you OP by all means start right now, but I don't have the financial stability to follow you.
