Anyone on /biz/ live in the downtown core of their city?

Do you like it or do you want to move away?

yes, but i'm in europe and my 'city' is only 30k people. You can save money on a car so it's good

Downtown boston

It’s a fucking socialist hellhole and is mindnumbingly expensive, but I can walk to work

I hate it and want to leave but work is work

do you enjoy the social aspect of it? like, the fact that there's so much to do in the downtown core on any given day

I have an apartment there but I don't live there. I live just outside the downtown area. I get a lot more space and it's actually more convenient b/c it's not a pain to drive out to where I need to be. I rent the apartment out and it pays for the mortgage I have on it plus a little extra. Good to own property in a downtown, less good to live there unless it's a walkable city like NYC.

I do, in an apartment.

Fucking shit, have a car here and traffic in and out is pink wojak inducing. All neighbors are yuppy faggot walking status symbols likely all riddled with debt. Open the window to my bedroom and get to breath in shitty car fumes from boomer-mobiles. Hear the door in the hallway slam every time some faggot comes home or goes out.

I want to go innawoods.

I used to live in sydney cbd
was nice. some days I'd just go for a walk through the city for the sake of it. traffic and parking was horrible though took 30 minutes to get home even of I was only a few km away

I bought a house with a huge lawn. I am contractually obligated to maintain it to community standards and it takes up about 4 hours of work per week in the spring-fall

Just fuck my life up.

I love downtown, love it. No car just bike. Party all the time.

Born and raised in the middle of Manhattan. Loved it while I was growing up, I hate it now. Every ounce of originality and authenticity is gone. Trying to get the hell our of this place. unfortunately I have family responsibilities at the moment so I'm kinda stuck here for a few more years

Honestly....ur gonna hate this answer, but best place to live is on the upper west side. Anywhere from the 70's to 125th. find a place in that area that fits ur price range.

Used to live in Fairmount. It's only a few blocks from the core of Center City Philadelphia and it is quite comfy in certain stretches. Unfortunately, the people who run Philadelphia are corrupt, retarded, and obsessed with draconian laws and taxing the shit out of people.

Part of me misses it, a much bigger part is glad I got the hell out. It's not like it is going anywhere.
