That's still enough to buy a house somewhere in the midwest. You can still buy Mcmansions there for less than $100k.

Stew pickles in the background had me loling.

100k isn't much. 200k could actually buy you a decent townhouse in most places, so I'd consider that "substantial". You could also get $1000 a month in dividends from this amount as well which would make me cum.

So fuck it. Keep pushing for the 200k.

Location is what matters, not the house itself. Nobody really wants to live in Oklahoma, wouldn't recommend it unless you got some kind of passive income that lets you make money at home.

100k gives you a crappy house or a respectable down payment on a good house. It's a solid boost in wealth for most people, but it's not close to enough to live the NEET life unless you are extremely frugal and good at beating the system to get things for free..

Saving up your first 100k is by far the hardest, every subsequent 100k you get it becomes easier and easier to rack up those G's.

Say you're a poor wagecuck and can only put 10k a year in the market. Takes fucking forever to get 100k that way. If you start with 100k in the stock market, you'll be making 10k a year nominal on average basically doubling your savings rate. Once you hit 200k, 20k a year. 300k, 30k a year.

Pretty soon your wages + returns will be giving you 100k a year and 100k becomes nothing. So don't blow it all on something stupid, you could be able to retire years early if you invest that shit.
