>Venezuela president orders banks to adopt the Petro crypto

How the fuck did BTC not pump today on this news?

What does this have to do with BTC?

The petro is not a digital currency they’re just calling it that.

>> No.10896257

they are tryig to stop their citizens using bitcoin. this is nothing more than more tyranny under the guise of socialism.

Petro is "backed" by petrol, yeah fucking right. thats not how crypto works for a start. its centralized.

They do not.

Venezuelans cannot afford the dollar it costs to transact BTC with a minimum wage of 1.25 USD a MONTH.

This, a month ago, was about 15 Million Bolivars, is now the equivalent to 15,000 Bolivars due yet again to Maduro stealing from the people while they drown in the oil spewing from the ground in Venezuela.

Crypto tards are being co-opted to be useful idiots for Maduro and his gang so that he can dump his Petros on a crypto market rather than his Bolivars on the oversaturated black market .. all while continuing to sell the land stolen from his own people ~10 years ago along with the nationalized businesses to the russians and chinese.

Venezuela is routinely plagued with power outages, therefore Venezuelans could not reasonably transact with crypto.

Also, most forms of transportation, especially buses, are subjected to routine guerilla searches. This results in the violent seizure at gunpoint of any personal wealth, and definitely private keys if one were to be held by a passenger.

Again, Venezuelans buying crypto is fake news, because the panhandlers on the US and European highways have more purchasing power than the entire country of 30 million Venezuelans combined.
