I wrote most of the pro-0xBTC posts in that thread and I have to admit, if BTC somehow gains cross-chain compatibility, then a very large portion of the use case of 0xBTC gets wiped out. Now, that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon, and if it does ever happen, then link is probably one of the likeliest methods of it happening, but you can never know. I do obviously recommend you get some 0xBTC, but at the same time you should also keep at least a little bit of link as a hedge.
