I'm interviewing for my manager's position today with her and our CEO. Any tips on how to act? I'm trying to be cool about this but I'm nervous as fuck.

so basically be myself and chill out?

This is the first time I'm interviewing internally and it feels pretty different from interviewing for another company

You're right it's not like other interviews. You can't bullshit through it like you can with people who don't know about your trash performance.

Holy shit how are you suppose to just sit there normally without staring at that Asian woman's legs?

What is the point of interviewing with people you already know at a company you already work for? If they don't promote you then leave for somewhere better.

just think about stuff you can bring to the table and start doing from day1 and what else you can make fulltime in next 3-6 months

On leadership:
- you have expectations that are non-negotiable, which means you have put your foot down sometimes, this makes you seem hard/harsh/mean. and you have to say that youre being strict. being strict is not the same as being mean, being strict is nto the same as disrespecting someone, being strict is not the same as bullying someone .being strict means you have standards that you expectation your subordinate to follow

On problem solving / making decision:
"when your values are clear, decisions will be easy"
- before beginnig any problem solving or faced with a difficult decision, you ask yourself, what is this company's value? is it quality? is it customer service? and once you have narrow down the most important value, proceed with your decision that most aligns with this value.

don't be cool, you have to act serious.

and of course..... always have examples ready. they want history if you demonstrating something that has happened.... and not pulling answers out of your ass

>so basically be myself and chill out?
not the words I would use. you want to be formal and confident. acting friendly and rubbing shoulders would probably be too advanced for someone who can barley keep the spaghetti in his pockets.
you better have your presentation down pat if appearances are what you're worried about, as important as it is.
