I own my own company. I started in high school. I have two employees now. I work 200 hours a month but it makes over 100k a year after paying them. I used to work 240 a month. I would have a higher nw but theres some loans and mortgages in pursuit of the vaunted PASSIVE INCOME that havent materialized enough.
Current passive is 500 a month. Turning more of my worth into passive is the goal. I no longer pursue net worth. Every hour less I work a month is an achievement.

this isn't larp territory btw. Having an 80k net worth and working 8 hours per month to survive is a dream gig in terms of life direction but its not some huge luxury. I know people in that situation, so its not that unbelievable.

This is why I'm unironically trying out the ATM plan with local clubs that have newly opened, drew up contracts.

Its why I'm looking at parking lot ordinances downtown near the university.

Its why I'm actually doing the vending machine thing.

8 hours a month is the dream. As it is I'm projected to be down to 180 a month by 2019. :/

You don’t need to save 100k straight out of college. Saving 1500 a month will get you to 1MM in 20 years assuming 9% nominal return. In other words, most people with decent jobs should be able to make it to 1MM by 40 (if they prioritize saving). Trading

LITERALLY didn't make a penny until I quit high school for a lack of interest, but manage to get a welfare check every month after quiting. Spent the tiny, tiny amount I got by simply going out once a month (I could basically afford 2 beers and a dinner once a month).
I have a great family though that let me stay home past 20 and I felt that normal fucking minimum wage jobs are so god damn boring it would only make things worse.

But, I started trading in autumn of 2016 (thanks to a friend that peaked my interest and teached me some things) with only $350 that I saved up and I'm now moving towards 40k net worth.
If I could go back I would probably have picked a shitty job for just a few months. Because starting with such a tiny amount was pure hell, it took ages to actually make decent money if safety was a high priority.. which it was.
If only I knew about trading when I was younger.. it's crazy how useless school really is for people that want to go outside the box.

If you make exactly 100k you're looking at a 60k annual net worth increase at best (not counting capital gains) and that's if you live like a broke college kid. Maybe 70k if you live with mommy.

If you plan on diversifying and want to avoid capital gains tax, look into opportunity zones. They are the best opportunity/loophole in the new tax code. You can defer 100% of capital gains for 10 years and have a 0 basis for any gains made on that investment.
