>Delta
How much the option will increase in price for every $1 move of the underlying security. DIA is around $258 so say it went up to $259 the option's value would increase by that amount.

>Theta
Time decay, basically how much value the option loses per day. And Theta starts to increase the closer the option gets to expiration until the option eventually expires worthless.

>Gamma
How much the delta will increase for every $1 move. Think of Delta as the speed and Gamma as the acceleration. As options get further in the money Delta will eventually approach closer to 1.

>Vega
Vega is the amount call and put prices will change, in theory, for a corresponding one-point change in implied volatility.

>Rho
the amount an option value will change in theory based on a one percentage-point change in interest rates. It's not very important if you're doing short term options (less than 6 months or so). But if you're doing options that are longer than a year then interest rates could affect them.

Theta and Delta are the most important greeks honestly, if you've got a good handle on those then you'll do fine.

I'm learning my way around trading. Prior to joining my job at one of the banks as a developer, I did a brief foray (a few months) by doing swing trades on technicals, and shorting retail (SHLD dying like a bitch).

However, I am restricted to trade as follows:
-Cannot short.
-Must get pre-approval to buy or sell.
-Must hold positions for a minimum of 15 days.

So this means I need to play the buy-and-hold game, or learn options (I didn't see any restrictions on buying puts, but I would need to doublecheck). Atm, I have a small position on Micron, hoping for another EPS beat.

What strategies are recommended within these restrictions? My current plan is to programmatically:
-Scan earning days for 15-30 forward business days.
-Do EPS analysis for those companies (beat/miss by quarter)
-Intersect with a low RSI.

Is there any other advice?

Think about it -- it's what I would do in your position. There's a chance that it has bottomed however the tariffs will continue to weigh on the stock. If you don't already have access to options, you might consider purchasing a protective put while taking a long position. This functions as insurance against losses and is cheap provided it's > 10% outside of the money. If you can protect your position against any additional and significant losses, you could hold out until the trade situation improves.

Less than $100? I would say Lululemon before their earnings call this week, however it's trading at > $130.

I'm mostly into options but sit on MSFT, some banks and Canada Goose, all of which are protected with puts.

Next Week's Occult Market Predictions:

As usual, the top card is the overall situation and the bottom three are the contributing factors.

Overall Situation:
>The Star: Hope, Peace of Mind
Contributing Factors:
>The Chariot: Strong Will, Trimph
>Father of Wands: A man of mystique and charisma. Is able to hold steady and still during conflict.
>Mother of Cups: A gentle woman who can become aggressive and defensive when pushed.

The Star immediately rules out the possibility of a crash happening in the next week. Instead, we should will see flat and stable markets in comparison to last week's back and forth battle. Spreads "may" be profitable.

I'm almost certain the Father of Wands is Elon, who recently admitted that Tesla is not going private, despite his very public tweet that it was. To the father's right is the Mother of Cups, whom I believe refers to Elon's less sane side. Musk will be tempted to become defensive and aggressive this week, but I believe the center card means that he will be able to hold steady. The leftmost card reveals the outcome for Musk: Triumph.

This is just my interpretation of the tarot. I'm sure there are others. If you have any other interpretations, feel free to chime in.

imo the yield curve as a recession indicator is completely useless/broken post dodd frank, due to the many regulations placed on bonds trading. as well as the fact that keeping rates so low for that long COMPLETELY changed the landscape of the fixed income market forever

i unironically think that bonds will absolutely never be the same ever again. as such, i dont think that yield curve inversion will be a useful leading indicator, nor will the market behave similarly in reaction to it (perhaps initially, but were talking macro rn). theres just too much thats unrecognizably different about bonds and the various credit risks of the maturities. for instance, im under the impression that notes will moon, not bonds (talking treasuries here obv)
