tips for crowdfunding?

first round funding goal is $250k. kickstarter isn't a good fit for my project so I'm looking at indiegogo or fundly. indiegogo seems able to get good exposure, but they have some shady intellectual property terms, big cost. i have rewards planned for those who contribute, including equity; what effect does offering equity have on business registration?

please advise on all fronts.

Before I can say anything, tell me what you're crowdfunding for. Then we can get into demography and the appropriate doctrine.

op, the work is done before the ks campaign launches. you need time and hype. you gotta raise it all in the first hour or it will fail.

>crowdfunding
>for something as localized as a lounge
You see, say you want to make a cannabis lounge for a square in Bongland, Oregon. People living in California aren't going to want to give you money, because it is completely useless to anyone not living in or close to Bongland. Therefore, if you're doing something that localized I would recommend selling to people who live there, with flyers or something, and not to some random fuckers on Indiegogo.
