I'm surprised I haven't seen more people deducting the mainnet release date like this. Have you looked into other projects confirmed to be working with CL?

If their roadmap also points to late autumn, it's definitely a worthwhile lead.

This is why the 2 September mainnet makes sense. They'll need a little time to give node operators a chance to set up prior to these other products launching.

You really think it's that close? I would imagine that people can anticipate the release date from Github once it starts to seem complete. So far I get the impression that there's still work to be done.

I'm no expert though.

It is important to understand that you do not succeede in technology by releasing perfect, flawless and complete product. You give it out to the market as soon as possible and then build on top. Apple (Steve Jobs) understood that premise more than anyone and I have no doubt that Sergey and his team are on the same level.

It is called continuous development. It does not mean that the initial product is shit. You can not release the today’s version of Facebook for example in the first go.

Imagine a worldview where civil engineers are in a race to finish first and thought of it as “patching it”

Oh that suspension cable on the bridge isn’t enough to hold it after a certain point? We’ll patch it later we need access across this area

I’m not saying this approach for software is bad, it’s gow it is, but it’s not engineering

I don’t really care about this issue. This thread is not about such discussion anyway.. It is about Chainlink’s main net which is getting closer and closer. If you want to talk about what is and isn’t engineering go to another sub or something.

This is exactly what they plan to do. Get an early version out for dev feedback. Just look at all the 'continuous delivery' tasks that are being completed on Pivotal Tracker. Continuous Delivery is the stage at which you apply regular small updates to a product that is already released to customers in some form.
I've mentioned this like 3 times on biz and nobody gives a fuck. The Pivotal Tracker is basically saying early main net IMMINENT!

is that supposed to be a shill for link?
This is a private Cosmos blockchain that relies on trusting validators, which means they can act as oracles for anything. There's literally zero place to utilize link anywhere in this.

It's only good for ethereum because the token itself is going to be erc20, whether the ico is going to be sold for eth or fiat is not explained
