i read tht average commute time to work is 1.5 hours in USA, many seeing 2 hours as doable.

how the fuck do you live like that? is t not soul destroying after a 9-5?
In UK most ppl see 30minutes commute as borderline unreasonable.

1.5? What the fuck?
I think this only applies if you're traveling to another town to work. For example I used to drive 45 minutes every morning to a job that was in a different town. I don't do that any more. My current job is 5 minutes away

remember most pajeets, chinks, gooks, japs will be on roads for 4 hours avg.

I see a lot of people post this, I thought I was the only one. Are we actually in a useless-job bubble right now?

>> No.10796618

my current job is only 8 mins away from my house by car, but I only make $15 an hour. Other jobs have offered me more money but are significantly farther, ie 1-2 hour commutes potentially. what do? im too scared to lose my comfy job where I only work 1 hour and fuck around for the next 7 hours.

I sleep in my shop so my commute is how long it takes for me to get off my fouton

>> No.10796643

either use that 7 hours for a side hustle somehow, or take the other job if its offering enough more money.

could you learn how to do forex or trading? with solid risk management you might be even able to make up the gap in wages, so long as u dont go full retard and try be greedy.

It would seem.
I worked pretty hard last year in the same position at the same company, but for the past few weeks I've worked probably a total of ten hours.

Driving is just part of American culture. It takes me 20 mins just to get to a grocery store, but I'm okay with that. Driving is where I have alone time to listen to music, podcasts, have insane outloud dialogue with myself or just think. Bumper to bumper traffic wouldn't be fun but cars/driving are a hobby of mine I enjoy.

In construction you have to drive to every job, and if you land a big job far away then you'll have to drive 2 or even 3 hours a day just to get there. I know a guy who has done that shit for 5 years now.

I don't really know. My jobs have sort of always been like this, I guess, and I don't really see it changing anytime soon. I don't really have the correct perspective to judge whether there's a bubble or not. I assume that rather than a bubble, there's just a shift towards more jobs in the information technology field, and there's a lot of jobs within that field (like mine) where my intervention is rarely required, but important to have swiftly when needed. So I get paid about $180 a day to sit here for 4 hours and shitpost while listening for alarms.
