Not terribly great DESU. I'm going to see what happens tomorrow. I sold some of my position today. I think it is going to stuck in the cloud for a few weeks. It needs to hit ~12 to be in a good spot for a continued run. Now it is edging near overbought, didn't break past cloud, with earnings not great enough to warrant a long bull run (IMO).

Macros on your side. Market growth on your side. Sector on your side. etc etc then pick from this selection to go long. Why try to pick a company in Turkey or in real estate without a really terrific reason.

You wanna align everything on your side. It's why shorts don't make sense most of the time imo unless you have some lumber liquidators story to blow it up with.

2% gain on entire portfolio is near impossible. Your risk would be too high trading so few securities at once to try to produce that figure. It'd be either jumping in and out of positions with your entire bank roll (not recommended) or trading at most three securities.

Now, hitting 2% trades each day is not a problem. It's just that with a reasonably diversified day trading portfolio, that isn't going to equal a 2% total gain on the day. And there will be periods where you're going to be flat or in the red no matter what.

Familiarize yourself with bollinger bands and the CCI indicator. I also recommend studying a few forex range trading strategies as those translate pretty to swing trading on securities. It's important to understand the relationship between warrants/options and the common shares if applicable for any stock you wish to trade. The only important thing we don't approximate have is benchmarks for the cards outside of ray tracing and deep learning. Sure all the preorders are gone due to overeager gamers, scalpers, poor researchers, and cryptocurrency miners, but by and large the only thing that matters afterwards is how well the card will perform in games and professional applications which Nvidia didn't mentioned once. Kind of pointless to guage the product's reception since Nvidia hasn't released a product for 2 years and everyone doesn't want to buy a product that is 2 years old which is forever in the computing hardware market.

The most worrisome thing is how much more expensive the cards than the last generation, as it seems like Nvidia is keen to get rid of oversupply of their card stockpile from overproducing for the cryptocurrency boom. And they know people will still buy them because they have an effective monopoly on the high end video card market. I predict short of a recession, Nvidia will probably make gangbusters margins and profit, but AMD does have the advantage in having the first 7 nm GPU and Navi might be competitive somewhat. I would predict at least Q3, Q4, and Q1 will be "good".

I doubt the ML layer (a low-density memory layer in the upper layers of the chip) they slap on the cards will have much of a positive impact on the card perf themselves to be honest.
Despite working there, I'm a bit grim on the short-term prospects of semis ngl.

Semis will be fine until they are forced out of using CMOS and run into practical cost issues with switching materials along with the physics getting tricky at that point to overcome.

I expect that will take around another 5 years to get there, and I would be perfectly fine with that and leaving my money put but my predictions for a recession would be around then so I do plan to exut everything before the end of 2020.

At 10/7nm physics are already tricky with short-channel effects and tunneling effects. Basically what's in the top fabs right now is already the best we can do on silicon or SiGe.

The biggest problem right now is that the market is mostly consumer-driven, and there is no new big product now that smartphones are nearing the end of their cycle. Nobody wants to pay for consumer health SoCs, home assistants are a bit flopping, IoT isn't taking off. All the large foundries just spent 10s of billions to bring their equipments up to date or increase outputs, and now they will have nobody to sell their chips to until we find the next big market.

I am invested in bioshits and even some chink companies
Companies, not memes nor tech crap

I think the only chink tech companies worth a damn are Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent. The rest is literally exit scams. It would be interesting to see how many of those small chink tech companies still exist and if they have managed to turn in a profit yet.
But even the BAT are risky in that they (the companies and CEOs) are at the mercy of their commie overlords

Nonetheless, I wish you make it out of this trade unscathed (or richer)

>> No.10778734

IQ Is one of Baidus top revenue sources. They own like 80-90% of it. If you trust Baidu then by extension you don't mind the streaming platform they own. The CEO is transparent and has a good record, and the company is doing fine. I would agree about it being a scam if it was just "assorted tech" but it is a product with numbers and in fact those numbers are creme of the crop in the entire nation. Producing dozens of hits and expanding its revenue streams. It may dip down for lockup here in a month but after that it should be fine and stable.

>> No.10778798

>>10778734
I said worth a damn, not that I trust them.

They deserve attention because they are systemic and unavoidable, and thus, subject to heavy ChinkCom scrutiny, which is a big no-no for me.

Besides, it is very common practice for chink big tech to spin-off some of their subsidiaries in order to raise cash from the markets.
And in the case of IQ, they are losing money and I wonder where their expenses go to (chances are back to Baidu's pockets or other of their subsidiaries)

I am wondering myself if IQ is in the end just a chink experiment to create a Netflix-copy subsidized by the US investors.
But, trust your judgement. I didn't do any DD on IQ but I am not attracted at all by those slimy chink memes.

That's the basis of the whole industry : if the market keeps growing, the price per chip shrinks because 90% of the expenditures in any fab are fixed costs.

Now, the problem is that performances gains from a generation to another are minimal nowadays, and that there's no big new use for chip. STM at least got automotive and alternatives technologies to pure CMOS to survive the downturn, and GloFo got AMD, I'm more worried about Intel getting rekt by AMD/TSMC/GloFo

Tech is all about the number of users and sure China has a lot of them

But how much valuable data can we extract out of them ? And for how much can we sell it ? I think the price of the data is dependant on the disposable income level of the Chinese people and I don't think it is that high. Plus, just like in the West, who do you sell the data to ? its not quite that simple.
at first, after a long break of not hiking rates, yes the dollar will moon
however this eventually stops being the case if we look at historical data. so its not quite that simple
but also, rn we have QT which is capping inflation (which is my logic for why the dollar is invincible rn). so every other currency is evaporating as per usual, but ours ISNT, thus making it appear to "moon"

idk, its all very complicated and i wish i went to fucking school for it desu senpai

Well, you should take ideas from here because there are legit good ideas (AMRS *wink*)
But alway do your own research

My reasoning is this:
LCI tanked hard because a contract will not be renewed
But the contract ends in 2019 so business and cash flows should remain the same for the time being
I don't think management will sit on its ass and wait for death
It will either look for other partners or sell itself

The short-term variable is if LCI has any liquidity problem because it has a huge debt load.

At this price, LCI is worth a try (but don't go all in)

At a time when they all crunch for battery supply that doesn't exist.

Even if you think tsla goes bankrupt the brand would survive and in that case have even less debt and a big buyer like apple/google. LOL.

SpaceX would run fine with day to day operations if Musk wasn't in the picture; but the whole reason SpaceX is so incredibly popular is the goal of getting to Mars, which is Musk's vision... without him they would just be another launch service provider, and would likely be crushed in the future by Blue Origin who has the backing of Bezos...

Let me rephrase that, anyone with any sense knows Musk is full of shit. Normies and people who don't have an engineering degree think he is a "visionary". You confirmed my point. SpaceX is successful because Musk sells it. Difference between visionary and salesman? Reality. Name one success Musk has had based on his own efforts/intellect and not the people around him + people throwing money at him. He was kicked out of Paypal by people with sense, stole Tesla from the owners and missed deadlines for a fucking decade while trying to start SpaceX.
