with atomic swaps you avoid tax b/c it becomes treated like forex except it won't be applicable like forex is taxed b/c it is exchanged at whatever rate it was at the time of the transfer. ltc is a side chain for btc on chain scaling issue for large transfers. it is faster than btc. wouldn't you want to transfer 100million usd worth of btc from wallet a to wallet b but the network is clogged? so what do you do you go between ltc and then back to btc at the output address.

Seriously though, I use litecoin to transfer between some exchanges. Lower fees and faster transfer times basically. Also, it existing for so long gives a bit of assurance it won't dissappear overnight.
On the other hand, I don't see why this coin should be worth more than $10 a pop.
