When I first started she was clearly full of anxiety, low self esteem, and dressed very masculine with hair kept up and looked like she didn't shower often. Over time she let her hair down, looked less dirty, dressed more feminine, anxiety reduced, self esteem went up (still low overall but a change). This woman was getting all these benefits from me being there and what do I get? Her work! How about some freaking respect! Just because I'm an efficient hardworker does not mean I want to do all her work, which is why I slowed how fast I do my work and have piles of work on my desk so she backs off.

They found a big discrepancy from a branch location I failed to notice and I signed off on and the damn branch manager is of course on vacation and nobody in his office knows anything to explain anything and refuse to contact him while he's fucking off in Hawaii somewhere.

I can guess what happened, they did an erroneous double entry between monthly statements and another was a rounding error but I cannot be sure without discussing it with the branch manager. The one blessing is that because of the "sensitive nature" of the job I didn't have to join one of the fucking unions. Does mean I'll be the first to go if there are budget cuts, but if I'm fired/laid off instead of quitting my pension automatically vests regardless of service time so I'd count it as a blessing in disguise.

My job is in banking operations, the experience I gained is not transferable, not like an account or audit. Low paid, limited jobs available.
I know I am unhappy unfulfilled.
Resigned last month, about to be NEET again. My brain is telling me I made a right choice of quitting this dead ending job with no future but it always telling me that I will have no income and hr will hamper me of not having a job.
I know I don't want to be in operations but I don't know what I want, finding what kind of job I want has always been my struggle

I work for the state. It’s a real comfy IT job, 20 bucks an hour but the bennies and retirement are amazing.

I’d really like to try my hand doing something I’m passionate about in the private sector. I’m only in my late twenties and I feel like I haven’t really tested my mettle.

Should I leave a comfy public job for a private job doing something that I actually care about? Has anyone else done this? Plz respond.

I went for a job interview and got called today and they told me I didn't get the position. The hiring woman talked to me for like 10 minutes about why they chose another person and said there are going to be openings in a couple weeks that would be better suited for me. She said that once they open up they will contact me because they are keeping my resume around. Was she just being nice?

I do anon. I really enjoy it now that I'm more into podcosts so it goes by pretty nice. 5 miles each way and I can take the bay trail (san fran) so no traffic. Currently first year buy-side analyst at a small real estate shop. Work 7:30am - 6:30pm most days then hit the gym immediately after for another hour (we have a nice office with a gym/shower right downstairs), another hour commuting home for 8:30pm giving me 2-3 hours to study for CFA level 1 in December (11:30pm) then bed.

Saturday/Sunday I do 8 hour study days from 8-4 leaving me the night to enjoy to myself. It's strenuous but I'm autistic enough to actually enjoy the rigorous structure.

Let's just do a quick calculation, if you live with your parents, have a job from 18 to 25, and make 10$ an hour:

10(pay/hr)*40(hr per week)*52(weeks in a year)*0.75(taxes)*7(years worked 18 to 25) = 109k.

Now that assumes you save almost all of your income for those 7 years, but it also assumes you don't work any over time, Sundays, holidays, or anything else which adds a lot more income. Sure most people don't have that kind of discipline, but you can also be working prior to 18 or just have other factors in your pay such as annual raises and such.
