It is a necessary evil in this market to have a set of people that question the validity of upward momentum and provide a challenge to irrational exuberance.
Without short sellers and put contracts; we would only go up and up and up until everybody was bought in; then we'd go very far down.

Bears aren't long term holders; and it's harder to be a bear in a market with a large amount of liquidity, more willing buyers to drive the price up.

Out of those three? Im not in love with any of them. Apple is kind of priced in right now. But they also aren't going anywhere and they have strong potential for future growth. I'd wait for the 1t craze to cool down a bit first before putting money in.

Square should be a good investment. I see those things fucking everywhere. I'd try for an entry point around 65 or less and hold for a long time.

Facebook is too risky. They could become a giant in five years or they could become a joke and relic next week. They suck at generating money and they face an aging user base.

This, yes and inflation is low, after periods of virtually negative inflation.
Also, gold and silver are heavily manipulated by the big institutes that control it.
All the lunatic fringe anarchists and tin-foilers moved on the cryptocurrency. There is no market for gold anymore.
Also it's fucking retarded anyways. Gold isn't valuable as a metal, it's valuable as a store of value and it's only valuable because of the faith people have in it's value, exactly the same as fiat only it's international. Except it's isn't because you need to have USD to purchase gold, because all commodity transactions use USD. Gold today is probably worth $500/oz like it was historically valued against fiat and before retard speculators and tin-foilers drove up the price.
Precious metals are for suckers. Buy real estate or industrial commodities like copper if you don't believe in fiat currency.

It could melt up, but it'd be very brief. There are no more good macroeconomic catalysts anymore and the market has ignored every bad one. Remember when stocks would go down because NK threatened to nuke the USA? Yeah, people got burnt out on false threats. The US economy and it's prospects are the best they've ever been in world history. Never had low unemployment, strong earnings, relative peace, low taxes!!!, internet! Today is the peak of western society. Oil even used to be $30 a couple years ago!

That's exactly why stocks will fall. They only fall from the absolute top. Maybe tomorrow, more like 2-3 years from now, though. Only thing that would prevent this is if some university opens up a 1000MW fusion reactor. Nobody can make money buying at the top like this long term, so money will only slow down.

Business cycle needs a crash in order for the system to work. MY suggestion, get out of FAANG stocks, get out of major indexes. Not today, but within the next year or two. Only good opportunities lay on the extreme margin anymore or with commodity markets.

Not always, it’s a good bonus and usually what you’ll see are stocks with prices that don’t change much the company pays a dividend. Shoot for capital appreciation plus a dividend. Avoid the trap of a fat dividend with a declining share price. Ensure that the share price is stable enough that it won’t decline past a level that negates the gain from the dividend. Although you can play that to your advantage if your goal is to accumulate for permanent holding.
Generally though if they pay a dividend, don’t expect large gains in share price.

Hey HII guy, really sorry about that wrong thing. I had the director of the area I work in come to the crew meeting we had yesterday and point blank asked him why the inconsistencies between what they tell us and what they tell the stock holders were so large. Basically the numbers they give us are half of what the navy gives them, so a .73 is actually a 1.46x profit. They're doing it to make us work harder and I'm fairly sure this whole director thing was because they promised something they couldn't keep, because we physically can't push out things faster. He said the 6 month thing had been going back for years and was getting better. I don't think he expected to be called out on the lies but since someone else lied not him and if he didn't give the information I was going to go to the government about stock fraud he was kind of cornered. So I might have lost some cash, 600 the day before the ER but still... I got a good show out of it.

Yeah, I was surprised to learn my awful trading actually turned a profit because I disregard dividends.

Best dividend stocks to have right now are oil/gas pipeline MLPs. Beware that owning MLP units is not the same as owning stock for tax purposes. Easy 8%+ income until the whole fracking thing goes bust in 5-15-25 years. It's the best way to invest in US domestic oil production. As oil prices go up, MLPs charge more, but never less, if prices go down. Since they are drilling and fracking like fucking crazy in the USA, but indiviudlal companies are cesspools of losses, debt and corruption, the best place in the world to be in is as a 'limited partner' in an MLP. Exploit this moment in history. These MLPs will be worthless in 70 years, but they have not peaked today!

Also what the fuck did I do wrong to get this captcha fucking treatment? I have to click on fucking squares for 5 minutes fucking straight. to post anything.

It's important to realize it's a logical fallacy. You are not reducing the risk of your earlier trade.

AUIC anal-yst here

I am getting JUST'd real hard today but sometimes you have to stick to your guns and baghold some more.

ROAD is newly IPO'd company but it is a sensible, boring but profitable business. I believe it is still under the radar.

you're on a whole new level of projection
I refuse to believe a real person can be like you're roleplaying out to be
I've known for a while how dry these boards get, this general can only exist with memers like you making shit up and posting the same dogs over and over
pictures of guro and such; it's just incredible your willpower in returning here day after day making terrible calls to liquidate newbies

I'll start playing along probably; I'm going to treat you like an all seeing guru. Mr. 'Long Outlook'.

If you haven't done your research into a company and just blindly dollar cost average.. thats not the brightest idea imo.. theres a difference with dollar cost averaging something you have done extensive research in and have waited for entry compared to dollar cost averaging into something like HMNY from $25 to .07 compared to dollar cost averaging some boomer stock attached to a major index.

Working a position whether you are short or long should all depend on your research. Many people itt don't work positions, they buy a large chunk then sell a large chunk. If you plan on putting 10k into a position why put it all in at once? buy 1k worth throughout a month or 2. Scaling in works if you understand what is going on and what your exists will be on both the upside and downsides.

Problem is everyone thinks they are bad ass traders and think they are going to beat the system and end up staying underwater forever because the whole concept of patience doesn't exist they listened to some faggot on youtube saying you can make $4000 in 30 minutes and then take that $4000 and become a millionaire in 1 year. Then they get desperate and buy far OTM options because they are cheap then they blow up their account.. the cycle repeats

The problem, I think, is that they can't a discount. Anon is paying $20 (?) for a pass that costs the company $25 or $30. They should have sold a more expensive pass ($50? $100) and aimed it toward the hardcore movie-goer, secured a discount to make the pass profitable, and then maybe worked out some sort of deal on concessions promotion.
