So, I'm looking to become a YouTuber. This is a serious dream of mine and, since my previous business venture failure, I've decided to just go all out for it. Before I've created anything, I already have two companies who are very interested in providing/loaning products to create content around (inb4 link to my channel or what it's about, but it's unique). I've had a few years of video "passion projects" on YouTube, so I'm no production novice. I'm 28, have a good, stable job and I plan to do this on the weekends.

Has anyone had any experience with the social influencer / YouTube sphere? I'm treating this like a business venture, just like I would anything else. Does anybody have any experiences or seasoned advice?

sorry to say this but you're too late. Youtube is dying and you will have too much competition right now.

Without wishing to sound like a hopeless optimist, I think it's just in a rut.

I have no intention of putting out low age demographic, hyperactive content that drives super high family friendly traffic. I can see the potential for quality content and it's been demonstrated to work by a number of influences.

I'm not looking to make millions, just see a return on a passion of content creation.

I'm interested to hear about why I shouldn't do it so I can avoid potential pitfalls.

It's dying intentionally. After Trump won (((they))) are doing everything in their power to manipulate the algorithms, destroy independent creators, and turn it into another propaganda outlet.

Try to search anything on youtube and you will get CNN,NBC,Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, etc flooding your results. The golden age of youtube is finished and quite intentionally so

Trips, so I'll trust you on that.

Being an influencer is just a very unique method of product/service marketing. Whenever there's been products, there's been marketing.

If social media influence is dying out, what's replacing it online?

the whole concept of social media is dying. its too centralized and the elites want to use it as a tool now to control and manipulate peoples opinions. FB and youtube will be dead platforms within 5-6 years.

Super quick cuts are unnecessary. Algorithm recommends long videos for people that usually watch them. Just grab the best camera, lighting and sound you can afford

Right.

Pro tip OP: start a channel that allows you to automate content creation later on. Think narration, compilations, etc.

Without going into too much detail I've found two product genres that are seriously under-represented on YouTube. They're things that start cheap, but can get extremely expensive and have huge followers who collect them. Everyone knows what they are, it's not some obscure thing like 17th century paintings. The retailers are crying out for online content so I've offered to do it for free in exchange for loaned products.

I'm repackaging it as something exciting and upbeat with dry-ish humor. Quick 4-5 minute entertainment and I've got a good engaging video formula. The current content out there is so piss poor (20+ minutes of a 70 year old man droning on). I've been paid by a few companies to be a presenter on video so I guess I can't be that bad.

actually no you idiot. do you even follow trends? nobody likes FB anymore. its a dying media channel. youtube is actively demonetizing or even shutting down many channels it doesn't cater to what they want to promote.

The real money to be made on yt is making those clickbait videos for toddlers and young children. Ever notice those weird yt vids with 10m+ views? Those are all children watching the same videos everyday. Also, children don't use adblock.

With this in mind you should be good. There are still countless opportunities out there. Go for it brah.

Well, I have a good paying job that I enjoy. This isn't a last ditch attempt at fame and fortune here. A large archive of videos, all gradually accruing views is the key, as far as I can see. I uploaded a video a few years ago and it gets a few hundred views a month with me doing nothing. It's peanuts, but a bigger channel with a large archive could be seen as good, passive income.

>>10514390

Thanks man. Without sounding cold about it, it's all about pushing products. The companies keep you in content and keep you in the money. Doesn't have to be a soulless thing. I'm so tired of shit like ylyl, cringe compilations, memes etc. on YouTube. I don't want to be a part of that crowd.

>> No.10514431

Is that really the going rate? Seems like it's not really worth it. I mean, you must need to have a fuckton of subscribers to get a million views on a particular video.
