Well lads, just woke up, drinking my green tea and trying to fully wake up. Still very groggy. Had to take melatonin last night so I could actually fall asleep and wake up for work. I'm fortunate enough to have a flexible position that lets me come in any time I want and leave when I want. Unfortunately, the job doesn't pay very much, but I think that's a fair trade for having some semblance of freedom.

Well guys, looks like that yugioh cyberse deck I stayed up late the other night building was all for nothing. I just barely beat my gf, on a technicality. I kept getting trap and spell cards in my hand. By the time I finally got monsters on the field, she had a full board of high-level dragons that my Link monsters weren't even strong enough to put a dent in. I only beat her by pulling a Link monster out of my ass that just happened to be strong enough to beat one of her low-level attack position monsters and shave the difference off of her life points. If I didn't do that, she would have obliterated me on the next turn.

Guess I better put in extra hours at work to buy more cards. Fortunately this a job that lets you work exactly as many hours as you want.

Fuck I wish I had a cubicle. Every British company I've worked for has either been a soulless corporate machine - with an open plan office, or a small trendy startup - with an open plan office.
Fuck I hate open plan offices, you just feel naked all day and you can't scratch your balls.
The worst was when I worked in sales with 2 other salespeople in a cramped office with about non-sales people. Imagine cold-calling businesses with 20 people listening in total silence. I legit wouldn't have sucked so hard if I just could've had a private room, if it was commission based, why would salespeople need to be monitored?

My commute is 10 minutes when I can take the interstate highway. But I don't like to take it when it's raining or snowing, because visibility is poor and the roads are slick and I generally like to play it safe. So it takes half an hour without the interstate because they are literally tearing up all the roads here for construction. They already straight up closed several main roads that I used to take. Not even a lot of money, plus it very often completely fucks your prospects of a future job or place in the world either through destroying you mentally, losing limbs, or just plain not teaching you the skills you need to survive in the real world. Only those who get out without mental & physical damage stand a chance, and they have to have already been "equipped" for the real world and general wage cuckery or business development. Otherwise not being in the military starts to drive them insane and they go back until they die or get discharged and never learn to lead a functional life.

They’re packing 3 wagies in there like sardines Kek. The only reason I think they might have wanted me out in addition to the others needing the space is because I would shut my door for most of the day which not many other people do at our office(though the old occupants of that office did the same shit and shut the door since it was away from everyone).

Is it because of the topics they talk about or just that they're annoying boomers? I've worked in an office with 50+ people and because I was much younger, they didn't associate with me. I preferred that over working with people my own age because they always tried to start such stupid drama

They’re so full of shit and fake. For example, some dumb boomer who sits to the right of me is the biggest yes-man in existence. He also constantly brings up how he used to chart stocks in 87 and he seriously knows nothing about financial markets. He also speaks as if he has so many connections to big whigs, but it’s so obvious he’s full of it.

And the jokes. Just so fucking lame. I have to fake smile so much that I’ve actually stopped pretending to laugh.

No staceys around. No bro-tier people to shoot the shit with. It’s soul wrenching. I need to re-locate ASAP.

i feel you
my place has a ridiculously high turnover rate so the only people staying are 40+ year olds who have stuck with this place for 20-40+ years already. Theres a fucking guy in his late 80's who wont retire. He's literally just a barely walking knowledge bank since he cant do any real work. New blood only uses this place for stepping stones or just leave because management is full of jackasses.
We can rarely get a group of people to go out drinking even once a month
Dont even get me started on the women, or lack of. We use to have an internship program so we'd get some cute college girls but that got gutted two years ago. It's so fucking boring now

So the floorplan has little squares, so the square footage is easy to calculate, so upper management can find out your cost per square foot.
