Given all of the current Russian hysteria this is how they can unironically kill crypto (at least in burgerland). They send a candidate funds that the candidate has no way to verify who it came from, and then afterwards provide evidence the wallet is tied to some Russian oligarch (or terrorist group). This is used as evidence on why crypto needs to be illegal as it is a threat to our democracy. Alternatively, if they just want to tank someone’s candidacy they show the wallet was tied to a pedo ring and the candidate becomes guilty by association in the court of public opinion.
