How do I learn about stocks/trading? Where can I get a good grasp on the lingo and terminology used and how to make semi well-informed decisions instead of being some memester that listens to /biz/ about what to buy and when to sell? I have some amurican colgate educumatication but not in the financial sect.

Wait, is that a real line of the game?
Also you should avoid at all costs trading above 6x+ leverage, follow the trend and get used to winning first. Short term trading/day trading will only make your broker richer.

Alright nigga but where do I learn what 6x+ leverage means? Obviously I could google each individual term I don't know but things don't stick as well that way.
Why would I use a broker and not just make trades myself? Isn't that what all the coin trading people do?

From a description about shorting Bitcoin:
>Short selling is the sale of a security that the seller has borrowed in the belief that a security's price will decline, enabling it to be bought back at a lower price to make a profit. In this case, Sayori has borrowed a significant amount of Bitcoin and is betting it will go down. She is also trading with leverage, meaning she has borrowed money from a broker to increase the amount of Bitcoin she can buy. However, this also makes trading more risky, as her losses are multiplied by the leverage amount. If her losses exceed the amount of money she originally had, she will be "liquidated" and lose it all. In this case, Bitcoin went up by over $4000, so Sayori lost all her money!

Why would you buy something on the basis that it's going down and then sell it after it goes down? Isn't that counter intuitive to investment?

Well you could read investopedia, otherwise you just learn as you go.
Well yeah people use brokerless trading but thats mostly for crypto, if youre going to do forex or something similar you'll most likely be trading with a broker.
The leverage is a term used where you money buys xtimes your leverage, a lot of forex brokers give up to 1000x leverage and people get used to that for quick gains but that shit wipes you out in like 3 months top.
Again leverage is the thing you have to pay the most attention to.

Nah you're getting it wrong, when you short is like saying "hol up nigga lend me these 100 btc and I'll pay you back later" so you have 100 btc and you sell them then the market moves down to say 50 and you buy 100 btc again and pocked the difference.
Thats pretty much automated tho, so you dont have to worry about details other than clicking buy or sell

The backend does it, usually you get a page or a software that shows the prices and you just click buy and sell there.

So through some wonky combo of shorting and regular investing, shouldn't you theoretically always be able to make a profit?

>> No.10298673

>>10298603
You don't.
The brokerage just matches you with someone who wants to buy. You sell what you just borrowed to them.
When you're finished (hopefully the price went down), you buy it at the lower price from someone they match you with who wants to sell, so you can return it to the person you borrowed it from.

I read good things about this, not so much for Starless(the dick guillotine and the scat for example) although it sounds like comedy gold.

You won't find any books that will really put it all together. It might take 5 years to either find an okay strategy or learn that buying & holding stocks is smart. There is no real way to beat reality and win unless you own the exchange.
