Nah, have fun with that. I played with penny and sub-penny stocks for a while, ended up making $130k or so on CDFT back in 2014. Catching the occasional moonshot on the OTC market takes a lot of luck and it's just too easy to fuck up and continuously bleed money. There isn't any sort of pattern daytrading restrictions for futures but there are minimum account requirements that are set for each specific future contract. It's generally a lot less than $25k for almost all futures though.

Good luck. I use the NinjaTrader platform but it's a few hundred dollars per quarter just to use the software, cheapest round trip fees for contracts that I could find though so it works out I guess.

You can actually use their platform for free with live market data if you just want to test it out and papertrade to learn the ropes, I'd suggest doing that before you really jump into it.
