10185885 No.10185885 [Reply] [Original]

Looks like thepiratebay.org no longer mocks BCH. They have removed "Bcash. LOL".

More and more are being turned around to realize that Bitcoin Cash isn't a scam every day.

bcash can still be a scam while bcore is also absolute shit. the era of bartcorn's reign and all its forks is over. if bitcoin would have unironically implemented bigger blocks, and waited to implement segwit and LN until it was ready and needed then it unironically would have crushed ETH and the entire alt market easily, but they are fucking retarded libertarian anarchists and destroyed everything good bitcoin had going for it.

1. Showing an ad (that you probably block anyway) doesn't increase your electricity bill.
2. Browsers are getting better and better at blocking mining scripts for every update.

Flippening imminent

>> No.10187242

Actually those ads probably involve just as much CPU usage as the monero miner does, depending on how involved the ad is.

And of course people will block the mining scripts just like they block the ads. But the point is that the monero mining provides a value-neutral way to monetize the traffic on a web page. I would happily mine if it meant supporting someone without also supporting a big corporation.

lulz no. not even the old flash ads were that cpu intensive.
as for which one is better for the site to bring in money i just meant that even if it works now it's probably more reliable to just get a normal advertiser since you never know if mining will even work next month due to browser patches.

>> No.10187330

>>10187302
>That pic

We can probably get to a point where 1% CPU usage is all that is needed to bring in enough revenue. Is it not reasonable to be worried that the adblocking browser addons will improve and lower the traffic too much for the advertiser to be willing to pay out?

browser makers are generally less hostile to remove ads by default in their browsers than prevent scripts that consume electricity and wear down hardware for their users. also even if 1% CPU was enough, when is enough enough? sites would be able to double their money just by increasing it to 2%. hell, three percent is still just three percent, and it's triple the money. eh 10% won't really be noticeable right? hm looks like some people are blocking scripts, let's just set it to 100% to compensate
it works in theory but i don't think mining scripts will replace ad revenue for sites in practice anytime soon. maybe there will be a short moment in time when its viable but it'll drop off

Why didn't they just put the ladder on that landing on the right? If nothing else it would be easier and wouldn't require his equally retarded coworker to stand on the ladder with him. Holy shit I just can't comprehend the reasoning.
