there are several options for miners across the world:

- invest in powerful rigs,as the computing power required is increasing
- move where electricity is cheap, negociate the price with the suppliers or start producing your own power
- get into a mining pool
- mine alt coins directly or by smart mining

- get out of mining altogether and start investing in coins that do not use PoW

I live in an apartment with rent controlled utilities. I have two 110v20a breakers available that I have populated with 4 Dell PowerEdge 1950s each. My total hashrate on those machines barely approaches 1KH on a good day, but it's free money for nothing. I might add in some cheap Tesla GPUs once I get some spare cash.
