of course, there are still individuals like that in ethereum. the whole point isn't to shake them all out, but to make sure they don't end up commandeering the direction of the project. thanks to bitcoin having the spotlight, vitalik has been able to be a public figurehead with a positive influence on development. and even though ethereum faces its own philosophical attacks now in terms of ICOs and scams, its ethos remain intact and progress is made

perhaps in time it will fail as well and there will be a bitcoin 3.0. advice for newfags, no existing altcoin fit the bill and no existing altcoin would ever fit the bill. it would have to be a new project of sufficient size, with the right vision and correctly aligned incentives; which seems extremely unlikely for the time being. so don't rush to buy EOS or IOTA or whatever because shills meme you about "crypto 3.0"...
