Alright, I don't really care what you think of Jordan Peterson, but how can you fault him for pushing self-improvement. There is literally nothing wrong with that. I don't care what you think of his politics, if you hate his message, you are most likely a worthless degenerate loser in a horrible financial situation, with your life falling apart, and you don't want anyone to tell you that it's your fault or that you can actually improve it.

Sure, he has a lot of good stuff out there. But he's not as principled himself as he's telling others to be. Refuses to answer certain questions, deplatforms someone because it was 'too hot to handle', all the while preaching about speaking the truth, not backing down and fighting political correctness.
Also saw a clip of him talking with an Australian comedian about civil rights and anti-discrimination laws; he immediately backed down on the 'gay cake' issue when the other guy put it in the context of refusing on basis of skin colour. He throws his principles right out the door when it's convenient.

Active social life, pretty popular. Persistently single for the last 2 years, but have made out with two women in the space of a month after nothing so... probably my fault (is it weird that I use that as a measure of my 'relationships'?). Since I got depressed haven't been making as much of an effort as I should to see my friends, there's like 10 people I should be setting up coffee dates with but don't. Shy.

I've read his work yes I've read lots of shit on personality disorders. I did wonder for a minute if I was a narc, what with my massive ego, but then I realized that my ego is inwardly directed. That external signifiers and social status didn't really mean anything to me, after all, why aren't I calling these people - these people I consider friends, who have no utility to me? I'm not putting up photos of myself on social media, i recoil from the camera like it is some kind of medusa.
That, in my understanding, is not Narcisism, also Sam Vankin I think isn't a legitimate writer - he's got this really weird way of writing that just feels iffy to me, everything is too perfectly arranged into symmetries which seems more the form dictating the content than the content dictating the form. But that's just me being a literary critic.

You would be surprised about the things it's possible to clean. I have completely disassembled a table fan, vacuum cleaner and a wireless impact drill. Cleaned all its separate parts, lubed it up, and assembled it again. Also I have built a wooden shelf in my storage room and sorted all my belongings in different transparent plastic containers. Each container is for different categories.

And I left as soon as I could, I tried to evaporate into air and tried to drink myself into oblivion. I wanted to disappear.
Having said that, I have a massive ego and I feel like I can't be a narc because I want ME to like me, I'm not moved or interested in external signifiers of status or value. Money is a utility not a measure.

My ritalin helped with this too. When somethings need fixing, I fix it. i don't dwell on it like I used to. The old me would say "I'll do it tomorrow", and when tomorrow came I would say the same. Things piled up and that's why I went to the doctor. He gave me an ADHD diagnosis and ritalin. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm starting to get on top of things!

I don't say that ritalin is the fix for everyone, but it was for me. What is important is that you find your fix, whether it's exercise, diet, drugs, therapy or friends. The thing is, "cleaning your room" (metaphorical or not) is NOT a meme. I realise now how much it stressed me and weighted me down. I feel much freer now.

Find your way and clean your room anon. You WILL be free!

Try this:

>get a big cardboard box
>start cleaning your room and ANYTHING that you think could be cleaned up, sold, given away or put in storage into that box
>leave the box in your room for 30 days
>any time you need something from that box, just dig it out and put it back in it's original place in your room
>everything left in the box at the end of 30 days you clearly don't need or want, and it can be sold/donated/put into storage

It sounds stupid but the mere action of packing things away can cause you to sever that mental or emotional tie you had to the object and it's utility. You'll find you really don't need nearly as many "things" as you once thought you did.
