I JUST got turned onto this site, AND the idea behind Bitcoin. About 2 minutes ago, literally. I’m very certain I haven’t grasped the entire “coolness” factor yet, so please don’t misunderstand my question! WHY is this Bitcoin an interesting thing? I see some use in there, but no discernible one really. I have an IQ of 167 and maybe that doesn’t mean anything when it comes to this, but I’ve always considered myself a “bright” guy. So I guess I’m concerned as to why I “don’t get it” yet. IS there anything “TO get”, or is this just something cool and unusual like looking at a fractal painting or something? Any tips? Haha! I really want to get into it

Read Satoshi Nakomoto's whitepaper. Basically, the tech behind Bitcoin (blockchain) makes it so people can safely transfer things (in Bitcoin's case "value") without having to rely on a middle man (banks) to validate the transaction. Cryptocurrency as a currency enables millions of people to participate in the global market when they would otherwise be unable to do so (think about how useful having paper money in Zimbabwe is).

Cryptocurrency not used for currency (supply chain, platforms etc...) are ways of incorporating the Blockchain technology into other sectors. I'm not going to go to far into the weeds since you have an allegedly very novice understanding of Bitcoin in general
