There's two ways to operate in this world.
1) You earn what you earn the company mode.

Believe it or not, the margin that most company's earn on employees on average is very small, as low as 1-2% in competitive businesses maybe as high as 15% in other cases. Only a very few top companys have high margins above 50%. So keeping in mind how people are, a good percentage of the people working at a company are actually costing the company more than they are being paid. This is compounded by the fact that employers have additional salary costs for HR, taxes, etc that the employee doesn't even see on their paycheck, so the actual cost to the firm in most industries is double what you are paid. So the short answer is, you aren't earning a lot because you aren't earning your employer a lot.

2) Trickery
This floats with part 1 because trickery is not necessarily easy. Trickery allows you to earn money that you don't deserve by essentially cutting the pie in a way where your slice is bigger. Most famous example is the deal Bill Gates did with IBM that made him so fabulously rich. I can't tell you how to use trickery because it requires creativity and imagination. So if you want advice, the only advice anyone can actually give you is for (1) which means "work hard and improve your skills" because anyone using option (2) isn't going to tell anyone else... unless its common knowledge (meaning ineffectual) or they're trying to benefit off you... like Bill Gates when he writes a book.
