Old money lives in rural areas. They grow their own food and mix modern luxuries with old fashioned living and prefer to raise their children there. Conversely new money gets squeezed dry financially trying to live a metropolitan life and trying to keep up with the jones.

There is no benefit to living in cities other than night life which could be accessed by commute.
