Base is a cheap chain as far as transfers are concerned. Maybe $1, at most.
Has to be eth. It's the gas token on Base and Base is an L2 OF ETH. Without it, you can't trade.

Aave is a lending platform on Defi where liquidity given can be loaned for other tokens.
You could lend WBTC for ETH, or for USDC, or bullshit tokens, but they usually have a borrowing limit.
