Discover bank sent me a deposit slip with my 1st statement and a postage paid envelope to mail my check deposits in. I have a local bank that I use as my central bank account that my paycheck gets deposited into. My goal was to keep at max 5 grand in there, but I've loosened up and I want 4-8k in there. Marcus was primarily where I kept my fun money, and my emergency fund (transfers to US Bank are next day) Marcus is paying 300x the interest as us bank on savings. And will probably raise rates 0.25%-0.3% by end of month. I signed up for Discover bank for a $200 bonus and Fidelity for a $150 bonus last month, but will likely close both accounts April 1st unless one is paying more than Marcus. Marcus minimum balance to keep an account open is 1¢ and minimum to earn interest is $1. This credit score for an online bank, I have no idea what you are talking about. I always liked the Ally Bank commercials, and their slogan "Your money needs an Ally". But if I remember right their terms were more restrictive, and rate lower than Marcus. US Bank is not my favorite but most brick and mortar banks suck, they write and mail checks for me (online bill pay), deposit and dispense cash for me. And I do it in person, if they'd actually treat me right as a customer I'd use an ATM, but fuck 'em.
