Couldn't think of the appropriate board to ask this on but I guess this classifies as "finances" so..

I am 21 with girlfriend 18, and a 4 month old kid.

I have about 170k EUR, nothing much but I am from a 2nd world EU country so that is basically more money than 99% will ever have here(for example a 2 bedroom apartment costs around 40-50k)

My girlfriend wants to get married and we're basically going to do it this year but here's the problem:

I've seen her "bad" side once where she emotionlessly puts me down and the thought of losing half my assets(170k) in case of a divorce is just.. I don't want to take that chance.

When I suggested a prenup to her which basically means all our finances stay seperate she just started coming up with stuff to say.

"If there's no prenup you'll have to value me more"

"If there's no prenup you'll understand your actions have consequences"

.. that sort of stuff.

However I am still just too worried about the idea of her divorcing me even if I do nothing wrong.

What's your thoughts, /biz/? Should I do it her way? Or am I being super retarded.

Are there any alternatives? How should I explain the prenup to her?

And for everyone in the states who wants to laugh about me stressing about such a "pathetic" amount, as I previously mentioned I come from a relatively poor European country so I say this with no shame, yes this is a lot of money for me.
