Look up how short selling works and then realize that gamestop was shorted by ~300% earlier.
I think it is like 180% now or something.
Point is, they shorted more stock than fucking exists.
They will be forced to buy it all back at crazy prices that WE set.
Every day they hemorrhage millions because they have fucking 80% interest on their shit now, while we lose nothing just holding the stock.
Once one hedgie starts to fold because of the way shortselling works it will create a domino effect where all the shortsellers will be forced to buy.

Because that is how shortselling works.
They basically bet that the stock will tank.
People see this and buy the stock.
The banks are left in a position where they can either
A. Just take the loss and buy the stock back, thus making the stock price go up.
B. Double down and wait it out hoping it goes down.
They are doing option B right now.
