ah, right. well from an economical standpoint the astronomical appreciation would offset the depreciation from dailying a car like that. another thing is that you can find them under £50k all day long - so they're not quite the untouchable collector's item - yet. porsche made hundreds of thousands of them.
if you mean from an emotional point of view - I dunno, saving away great cars and driving them sparingly just seems like saving your girlfriend for the next guy. life is short, too short to drive boring cars. i drive an "impractical sports car" every day and while i'm not really pushing it to its limits on the daily commute, simply driving it makes my heart sing.
