I think international finance sits atop of knife-edge of sorts. Left to its own devices its unlikely to fall off completely, perhaps sway violently but not fall.

But external shocks can trigger it to fall, and potential external shocks are infinite.

A globalised economy is susceptible to shock waves from any corner of the globe and it only takes one domino to start a collective downfall.

Bottom line; anything is possible but time will ultimately tell.
