Fed will not allow deflationary spiral. They were on the US banking collapses like a hawk and took exactly what was needed onto balance sheets asap to prevent the deflation chain reaction. They can do this because they have full oversight of the US banking sector.

The real danger comes from dollarized debt outside the US banking system. When other countries entangled in the SWIFT system start having central bank level problems, the Fed can't react as quickly. They're so afraid of the deflation spiral that they'll just issue emergency printing with Congress's blessing. Inflation is guaranteed for any fiat system that holds the keys to the money printer.
