Currently working at a grocery store as a stocker. I get $10/hr but only work 30hrs so its basically minimum wage. They dont do third shift so I have to be there when the customers are there. There are three retirement communities near the store and 99% of our customers are 150+ years old. Have boomers all day asking me for shit that we dont sell, but they insist we do. "What do you mean you dont have 20lb bags fo sugar? I bought one yesterday, you do have it!" And we dont. Nothing more satisfying than talking to rotted out brains all day. All day long I walk among warm corpses. Once and a while a younger woman will walk in and its like a light in the dark, but I am just a grocery scrub. Exchange hellos and then she is gone and it makes me think about the death that surrounds me. All the jobs that I find pay differently and have varying hours but it all basically comes to min-wage. Helping a family member out now so I cant leave. I used to make $35k driving a forklift around in circles. Now, Ill be lucky to break $12k. I miss the days of sitting on a hot swampass smelling seat and then giving my swampass smelling seat to the next scrub. Look at your hands. We will all be bones in a box, anons.
